Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be Lake Discovery 3 Days 2 Nights

Between 7.30 and 8.00 in the morning, our tour guide will collect you outside your place of accommodation in Hanoi Old Quarter to begin the journey to Lang Son - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be Lake. We will drive in the direction of the Chinese Border for around 3 hours, before stopping at Chi Lang Pass - a 20-km-long canyon forged from a narrow valley between two mountains. We will stop for a brief visit here before continuing on for an amazing journey to Ba Be Lake and Ban Gioc Waterfall

Chi Lang Pass has played a crucial role in Vietnamese history with many victories occuring here against assorted Chinese invasions over the centuries and millennia, as long ago as 981AD. Because of this it carries the reputation of Vietnam’s strongest citadel and bastion. Here, you will have approximately an hour to walk around and explore the area around the Quy Mon Quan Gate, which means “The Gate of Monsters”, named after the many invasion forces that would attack through the pass numerous times in history only to be stopped by the resolute Vietnamese defenders

After lunch at a local restaurant in Dong Dang Border Gate, you will continue your trip into the pass, stopping to visit Mother’s Temple and Dong Khe – an famous historical site where The Battle of Dong Khe took place during the First Indochina War. In actual fact, this was the very first battle of the Indochina Wars, and the fighting here took place from September to October 1950, ending in an emphatic victory for the Viet Minh

In the late afternoon, we will arrive at the home of a local family to enjoy dinner and finish the first day of our Ba Be - Ban Gioc waterfall journey by staying overnight with a Nung Family - the local homestay

This is, perhaps, the most awe-inspiring moment of your whole trip. You will come upon one of the most stunning sights in the whole of the north of Vietnam, Ban Gioc Waterfall

After breakfasting at the homestay, you will leave for Trung Khanh District, which is situated right on the border with China. Here you will have another chance to meet and interact with the local Nung People who live in the village of Phuoc Sen, a mountainous village famous for its long-establisor some fantastic photographry

When you’ve finished at the falls, it’s time to head towards Nguom Ngao Cave, for a very different, but no less stunning natural wonder. The cave extends for 2,144 meters underground and is overflowing with dazzling stalactites and stalagmites. Nguom Ngao Cave is constantly listed as one of the major things to do in Ba Be National Park

Afterwards you will return to Cao Bang Town and go down the “snake pass” to Ba Be Lake

We'll stop in the village of a Tay Family for our 2nd night here, where you can once again relax and unwind and enjoy a delicious and authentic home-cooked meal

Once breakfast is finished, we will begin the last day of Northern Vietnam Discovery. It will start by stepping onto a. This tour consists of amazing sights such as extraordinary karst formations all around you, covered with spots of wild vegetation and interesting and varied wildlife

The boat will wind it's way along the Nang River, giving you a chance to explore the caves of Puong Grotto where you can wonder at the stalactites and stalagmites formed through river erosion, as well as witness the thousands-strong bat colony that resides  there

Now that you’ve reached the end of your tour and are finishing the premier activity in Ba Be National Park, you’ll be driven the approximately 230 kilometres back to Hanoi, with a stop at a tea plantation settled among rolling hills. Once we arrive in Hanoi it is time to say goodbye and see you on the next trip
