Children policy:

Children under 5 years old: Free of charge (shared seat/bed with parents)
Children from 5 to 10 years old: 50% of adult's price
Children above 10 years old: 100% of adult's price

What to know?

Please be ready at the train station 30 minutes before your departure time
Hanoi station has two gates: The Station A (Main Gate) is located at 120 Le Duan street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi, usually for South-bound train. And the Station B is located at Tran Quy Cap street is usually for North Train (to Sapa).
Prepare E- tickets or paper tickets, original passport or Identification card on hand
Take care all your luggage on train because it is pretty hard to find if you missed or lost something on train
Restroom is not in cabin and only open when the train runs
You should always carry valuable items with you such as passport, money, credit cards, jewelry...
Before leaving the train, please remind to double check your belongings.
Carry-on Bags: The train cabins are allowed to carry baggages not to exceed the weight limitation of 20 kgs of adults and 10 kgs of children. These baggages are wrapped neatly and reliably.
